LPL Financial Advisors at IWM Partners to Host Workshop on Health Care Reform and the Affordable Care Act Tuesday, October 1

Fountain Valley, CA (PRWEB) September 27, 2013

The wealth management firm IWM Partners will host a workshop on Health Care Reform and the Affordable Care Act Tuesday, October 1 at its Fountain Valley office from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

With open enrollment for the health care exchanges starting the same day as the workshop, presenter and Insurance Specialist Carolyn Tomaka will go over the basics of what is changing under the Affordable Care Act and how it will affect different categories of people.

Tomaka will cover how to apply for subsidies on the Covered California Exchange, how the law affects people with pre-existing conditions, how Health Care Reform affects small businesses, and what penalties are being imposed for those who don’t purchase insurance. Coverage under the Affordable Care Act starts as soon as January 1, 2014, and open enrollment will end March 31, 2014.

With four categories of health coverage to choose from under the exchange – bronze, silver, gold and platinum – Tomaka will outline the features of each type of plan and will address the changes in law in relation to attendees’ individual situations.

“With the consistently changing nature of Health Care Reform, the workshop will be a valuable opportunity for those attending to get a better grasp on policy changes as a whole as well as how they will be affected personally,” says LPL Wealth Advisor and CFP®, Michael Hernandez.

Those interested in attending the workshop can RSVP on the IWM Partners website or by calling (714) 962-0000.
