LLE to Sponsor 16th Annual Tri-State Telecommunicators Banquet and Awards Ceremony
Date:3/23/2009

911 professionals in Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland to hold annual convention recognizing public safety officials.

Washington, D.C. (Vocus) March 23, 2009 -- 200 emergency and 911 professionals will gather in Charles Town, West Virginia to honor their colleagues in the public safety sector. The 16th Annual Tri-State Telecommunicators Banquet and Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday April 11 at Charles Town Raceway. Language Learning Enterprises, Inc. (LLE®), the leading, global provider of 24-hour telephone interpretation, document and email translation, and language proficiency and skills assessment, is a recognized sponsor of this event.

LLE’s telephone interpretation product, LLE-LINK®, delivers immediate access to live language interpreters simply by dialing an 800 number in over 150 different languages. 911 and Emergency services rely on LLE to help them communicate with hotline callers who speak little or no English.

“We are delighted to help sponsor the Tri-State Telecommunicators Banquet,” states Kathleen K. Diamond, LLE’s founder and CEO. “Furthermore, we are pleased to help 911 emergency services by providing a professional and LLE Certified language interpreter over the phone. 911 calls are obviously sensitive in nature, and LLE responds to each situation as such.”

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, about 20 percent of the US population or over 56 million individuals are classified as being limited English proficient.

Diamond, who speaks English, French and Spanish, founded LLE in 1979 with a mission to deliver excellence in foreign languages and immediately began providing language instruction to the U.S. Government. Today, LLE is recognized as the leading provider of multilingual solutions to thousands of business, government and non-profit associations across the globe.
