LIFE Provides Emergency Humanitarian Aid to Gaza Civilians and Hospitals
Date:12/29/2008

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Dec. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Life for Relief and Development (LIFE), a U.S.-based charity, has begun providing emergency humanitarian relief to the civilian victims of the recent conflict in Gaza.

As one of only a handful of international non-governmental organizations operating in the area, LIFE has obtained permission from the Israeli authorities to deliver urgently needed relief items to Gaza via a specially designated humanitarian corridor.

LIFE has distributed food, hygiene kits, first aid supplies, and other relief items to the sick and injured in Gaza. LIFE has also delivered medical supplies to Palestinian hospitals and clinics in Gaza.

Commenting on these relief efforts, LIFE President & CEO Dr. Mujahid Al-Fayadh stated, "The local residents who have been suffering from food shortages for over a year are now also in dire need of medical assistance. We will continue our humanitarian efforts to help ease the suffering of the innocent civilians caught in the middle."

For further information on these relief efforts or to make a tax-deductible contribution to LIFE's Gaza Emergency Fund, please visit www.lifeusa.org or call 1-800-827-3543.
