ARLINGTON, Va., May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Learning about life, health, disability and long-term care insurance just got easier. Today, the nonprofit LIFE Foundation unveiled a significantly enhanced version of its award-winning website and moved it to a new Web address at http://www.lifehappens.org. The LIFE site has been completely redesigned and retooled to provide visitors with objective, easy-to-understand educational content on all the major types of life and health insurance. It features a wealth of multimedia content and interactive planning tools, such as LIFE's popular Insurance Needs Calculators and for the first time, Spanish-language content that can be accessed from the homepage or by visiting http://www.cosaspasan.org.
"We are very excited to unveil our significantly upgraded website, which for more than a decade has been the authoritative online resource for information about life and health insurance planning," said Marvin H. Feldman, CLU, ChFC, RFC, president and CEO of the LIFE Foundation. "Even the new Web address, lifehappens.org, communicates important information. 'Life Happens' is a reminder that none of us knows what the future holds. That's why we take small precautions every day, like wearing seatbelts when we drive. We buy insurance for the same kind of reason - to protect our loved ones financially."
To help visitors quickly find the insurance information they are looking for, the LIFE site is organized into four main content sections. The new "Life Stages" section provides consumers with a financial road map for whatever stage of life they happen to be in. The "Insurance Fundamentals" section contains a wealth of content on all of the major types of life and health insurance, and features more than half a dozen interactive tools, including various Insurance Needs Calculators and an Agent Locator search function.
Those seeking information on LIFE's initiatives can access the "LIFE Programs" section of the site for an overview of LIFE's main initiatives such as realLIFEstories, the LIFE Lessons College Scholarship Program, LIFE's high school and community college insurance education programs, and the two industry-wide public awareness campaigns that LIFE coordinates each year: Life Insurance Awareness Month in September and Disability Insurance Awareness Month in May. The "LIFE Online" section provides links to a multitude of LIFE's web-based offerings, including The Insurance Word Blog, LIFE's eCard suite, Insurance 101 Flash videos, as well as LIFE's Facebook and YouTube sites.
In addition to providing consumers with useful content, LIFE offers special navigation tabs to make it easier for financial professionals and the media to find resources that are relevant to them. Highlighted in orange at the top of the homepage, these tabs include direct links to the LIFE Idea Exchange for companies and agents, as well as the LIFE press room, which includes profiles on each of LIFE's expert spokespeople, recent press releases, insurance information and interactive tools. RSS Feeds are also available on every page so visitors can stay up-to-date with new information, announcements and resources that are posted to the site.
