LA Superior Court Appoints Steering Committee to Lead 3,000+ Avandia Lawsuits

pretrial proceedings that include discovery, motions, evidentiary hearings and issues that deal with the biochemical aspects of the claims currently at issue. Mr. Finson is also the Chair of the MDL Avandia Stroke Science Committee as well as a member of the MDL Avandia Science Committee. These positions will provide the Steering Committee with the opportunity to complete the depositions of experts related to the case in an efficient manner.

About Avandia and Side Effects Claims
Avandia is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, and it is primarily used to help patients manage diabetes. In response, the FDA has required that all containers of Avandia come with a ‘Black Box Warning’ that clearly warns of the possibility of Avandia side effects, and several thousand legal claims have been filed on behalf of injured consumers who had used the drug.
