Kwalu Receives SCS Global Services Highest Level of Indoor Air Quality Performance for Furniture
Date:11/8/2016

Kwalu is pleased to announce that its seating, tables and casegoods have been certified to the most transparent Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) standard for furniture with SCS Indoor Advantage Gold. Indoor Advantage Gold certification is SCS Global Services’ highest level of indoor air quality performance for furniture. The certification assures that furniture products support a healthy indoor environment by meeting strict chemical emission limits for volatile organic compounds (VOCs). To be certified, products must be tested by independent labs for compliance with the ANSI/BIFMA X7.1, and either ANSI/BIFMA e.3 or CDPH/EHLB Standard Method V1-1 for VOC emissions of concerns.

Sustainability plays a key role in the design of our furniture. Kwalu can now use the Indoor Advantage Gold certification as a guide to further our efforts to become an even more environmentally sound company. Michael Zusman, CEO of Kwalu, states “Indoor air quality is critical to the well-being of a hospital’s guests, patients and caregivers. We want to help build healthier environments and make that value transparent to all.”

Achieving Advantage Gold certification is no surprise. Over the last decade, Kwalu has invested a number of resources in our sustainability journey, and now a third party has verified it. This certification is an acknowledgement of Kwalu’s environmentally-friendly policies and actions now and for many years to come.

Digital copies of the Advantage Gold Certification are posted on the Sustainability page of the Kwalu website https://kwalu.com/certifications/, and additional information on the SCS website at http://www.scsglobalservices.com
