Kroger's Family of Pharmacies Offer Customers Easy and Affordable Seasonal Flu Va...( CINCINNATI Aug. 24 /- The Kroge...),Health

CINCINNATI Aug. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Kroger Co.'s (NYSE: KR) Family of Pharmacies is making it easy and affordable for customers to take steps to keep themselves and their families healthy by getting seasonal flu immunizations early.

This year, Kroger's more than 1,900 in-store pharmacies will again offer convenient access to seasonal flu vaccines at an affordable price. Beginning in September, flu vaccines will be administered by Kroger's own Certified Immunizing Pharmacists for $25 per vaccine. During the 2008-2009 flu season, the Kroger Family of Pharmacies administered nearly 1 million flu vaccinations.

The Centers for Disease Control encourages seasonal flu vaccinations for anyone wishing to reduce their chances of getting the flu. Groups who are particularly susceptible include:

• Individuals aged 6 months to 19 years old and those who are 50 years old or older
• Pregnant women
• Individuals with certain chronic medical conditions
• People who live in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities
• Health care workers
• Household contacts and caregivers of children less than 6 months of age
