Kroger Pink Tag Campaign Raises $137,500 for Breast Cancer Research and Awareness at Karmanos Cancer Institute

common cancer among women. It is the second leading cause of cancer death among women (after lung cancer) and the leading cause of cancer death among young women. Being a woman and getting older are the most important risk factors for breast cancer. Although diet, exercise and other lifestyle choices, as well as some forms of treatment, may help reduce the risk of breast cancer, there is no way to prevent it. Only 5 to 10 percent of breast cancers can be linked to a strong family history. Most women with breast cancer have no known risk factors.
