Kroenke honored for outstanding contributions in clinical research training

Institute and Indiana University in 1997.

In addition to authoring more than 280 peer-reviewed publications and receiving numerous teaching awards, he is the recipient of sustained research funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Veterans Affairs and other U.S. government agencies, foundations and industry. He is a past president of the Society of General Internal Medicine and the Association for Clinical Research Training, and a Master of the American College of Physicians.

"Dr. Kroenke embodies everything one imagines in an outstanding mentor: knowledge, wisdom and total dedication to helping young investigators become accomplished scientists. We are extremely fortunate to have him lead our education programs," said Anantha Shekhar, M.D., Ph.D., associate dean for translational research at the IU School of Medicine and director of the Indiana CTSI, which includes IU, Purdue University and the University of Notre Dame.
