Kraft & Associates Announces Support for Team Walking to Fund the Fight to Cure Arthritis

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) April 08, 2015

The North Texas law firm of Kraft & Associates Attorneys at Law, P.C., announced today that the firm is supporting efforts to raise money for arthritis research through the Walk to Cure Arthrits scheduled for May 9 in Arlington.

The firm is backing a team named “BSquared,” whose captain, Amy Stewart, is the wife of attorney Matthew Stewart, a Kraft & Associates lawyer who represents disabled individuals as they seek Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits.

“At Kraft & Associates, we are passionate about one day finding a cure for arthritis and, in the meantime, improving the lives of people who have arthritis,” Matthew Stewart said. “I have seen the pain and disabling effects of this disease – both in my work with SSD claimants who suffer from arthritis, and through the experience of my wife, Amy, who has arthritis.”

The law firm has launched a webpage to support Amy Stewart’s team as they work to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation during the May 9 event. The page also includes an infographic with facts and figures about arthritis, such as:

  •     52.5 million Americans have arthritis, amounting to about a fifth of all adults.
  •     300,000 children in the U.S. under age 18 have arthritis.
  •     Over 43 percent of patients diagnosed with arthritis have some degree of activity limitations due to the disease.
  •     Arthritis is responsible for an estimated $19.3 billion in annual costs to American society.
  •     Rheumatoid diseases – including arthritis – have been the top cause of disability in the U.S. for 15 straight years.

“We are determined to do something about the terrible toll arthritis takes on so many people – both young and old,” Matthew Stewart said. “Raising money for the Arthritis Foundation through the Walk to Cure Arthritis is a small but important step we can take.”

The firm encourages donations to the team’s fundraising efforts, which can be made through the Arthritis Foundation’s website.
