NASHVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Healthcare Management Systems, Inc.(R) (HMS) announced today that it was selected by Kimball Health Services to supply a full system of integrated clinical and financial software. For the 20-bed critical access facility in Kimball, Neb., their new, integrated HMS system reinforces their commitment to providing quality, patient-centered care for their community.
Kimball Health Services has some healthcare technology in place already, but with the growing needs of the community, they knew they needed a system and a business partner that would grow with them into the future. HMS' advanced healthcare technology tools -- paperless initiatives, 24/7 online access to information, CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry) and electronic medication administration with barcoding at the bedside -- will help them to achieve that goal.
"Our number one focus and goal is to provide the best and highest quality patient care to our community," said Julie Schnell, chief executive officer of Kimball Health Services. "Implementing the advanced clinical and financial applications offered by HMS puts information at the fingertips of our providers to make the best care decisions possible."
"We are honored to have been selected by Kimball Health Services to be their partner in bringing advanced technology to their patients and clinicians," said Tom Stephenson, president and chief executive officer for HMS. "As this facility continues to grow, the integrated HMS solution will enable the hospital to better serve their community as they build for the future and move toward an electronic health record."
HMS was selected after an extensive search, and the first phase of the new system will go live at Kimball Health Services on March 1, 2009.
