Working with the USDA the Kellogg Company Continues to Promote Health and

Wellness

BATTLE CREEK, Mich., June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- In another example of its commitment to meeting consumers' health and wellness needs, the Kellogg Company joined the Department of Agriculture's MyPyramid: Corporate Challenge. The Challenge is a program involving more than 30 companies promoting eating and physical fitness for families that is consistent with MyPyramid. The formal unveiling of the companies participating in this program was held today in Washington, D.C.

"Kellogg is pleased to partner with the Department of Agriculture in their MyPyramid Corporate Challenge. Our partnership underscores our long-standing commitment to meeting the health and wellness needs of consumers," said Celeste Clark, Ph.D., senior vice president, global nutrition and corporate affairs, Kellogg Company. "We commend the USDA for its work in helping families make nutritious food choices using MyPyramid."

Kellogg Company has long supported the USDA's commitment to MyPyramid and uses it as a focal point in many of the nutritional education tools the Kellogg Company provides. Currently, kelloggsnutrition.com features links to MyPyramid tools as another step to encourage a healthier lifestyle.

"USDA welcomes Kellogg Company as a team member of the 'Partnering with MyPyramid: Corporate Challenge' to improve family nutrition and end childhood obesity," said Dr. Brian Wansink, executive director for USDA's Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion. "Working together we can begin to make immediate changes where family members work, live and play, which can have a lasting impact on child and family health."

Tools for Everyone

With more than a 100-year heritage of dedication to promoting consumer health and wellness, Kellogg Company is developing new tools and resources featuring USDA's MyPyramid for consumers and industry partners.
