Keane NetSolutions(R) to Enhance Patient Safety, Efficiency

SAN RAMON, Calif., May 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Keane, Inc., a $1 billion-plus global services firm that specializes in enabling transformation of its clients' business and IT functions, today announced that it has signed a $1.5 million five-year contract with Golden Living, a network of long-term care facilities that includes 331 skilled nursing facilities and 19 assisted living facilities in 22 states. As part of the agreement, Keane will install eCharting and ePrescribing components of its NetSolutions clinical application.

Keane's eCharting and ePrescribing solutions will provide Golden Living with a safer, more efficient approach to order management, replacing manual processes traditionally used to administer medication and treatments. This implementation will give physicians at Golden Living immediate access to patient information using a secure, browser-based technology at the point of service.

"We are focused on providing the highest quality of care and quality of life to our residents and believe this implementation with Keane will place Golden Living on the leading edge of healthcare IT," said John Derr, Senior Vice President and CIO of Golden Living. "We chose Keane's NetSolutions product because of its proven clinical functionality for our physicians and nurses, as well as its ease of installation. We are pleased to continue our long-term partnership with Keane and look forward to working together on this implementation."

"Patient safety is a top priority for all healthcare providers, and our NetSolutions suite of products provides long-term care facilities with the technology they need to substantially increase the safety of their patients," said Walt Kaczor, Senior Vice President, Keane Healthcare Solutions Division (HSD). "Our eCharting and ePrescribing products provide an effective point-of-care system that provides more information at the time of service and
