Date:8/28/2013

Far Rockaway, NY (PRWEB) August 28, 2013

The effects of Superstorm Sandy still linger in hard hit Far Rockaway, and two organizations are leading an effort to help those who have been valiantly struggling to recover from Sandy. Kars4Kids and the New York City Housing Authority will distribute 1,000 backpacks to children in Far Rockaway. The backpacks will be distributed at two different locations.

"We are so excited to partner with the amazing people that run The New York City Housing Authority," said Kars4Kids spokesman Steven Weldler. "Last year's event with Chairman Rhea was a huge success and we look forward to helping the hard working people of Far Rockaway."

The backpacks will be distributed at two Far Rockaway locations on Thursday August 29th:

Location 1:
11am-1pm
Hammel Community Center
81-14 Rockaway Beach Blvd,
Far Rockaway, NY 11693

Location 2:
2pm-4pm
Beach 41st Community Center
426 Beach 40th St,
Far Rockaway, NY 11691

The event is open to the public and no registration is required.
