Washingtonian Surveys Area Mental Health Professionals for Their Selections

Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 7, 2009 -- Karen J. Osterle, LICSW, was identified as a "Top Therapist" in the July 2009 issue of Washingtonian magazine.

Washingtonian is the region's most trusted guide to living, working, and playing in the Washington, DC, area for more than four decades thanks to features like "100 Very Best Restaurants," "Top Doctors," and "Great Places to Live." The magazine is read each month by more than 400,000 people and is a five-time National Magazine Award winner for its reporting and writing.

The July 2009 issue feature, "Asking the Experts Where to Find Good Help," is the result of a survey of approximately 1,500 psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, therapists, and counselors in the DC metropolitan area. The survey asked them to name the one or two specialists in a variety of areas, such as such as anxiety, depression, and marriage counseling, to whom they would send a family member for care. Nearly 800 mental health professionals responded to the survey. Ms. Osterle was named in two separate categories, Generalized Anxiety Disorders and Major Depression.

In addition to her private practice for individual adults and couples counseling in Washington, DC, Ms. Osterle is a Clinical Instructor at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, where she teaches medical students how to effectively interview patients in various circumstances.
