Kardea Nutrition™ LLC announced today that Robert Lukasik has joined the company as Vice President of Sales. Separately, Kardea has announced that it has extended its distribution network in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic

Hamden, CT (PRWEB) February 15, 2010 -- Kardea Nutrition™ LLC announced today that Robert Lukasik has joined the company as Vice President of Sales.

“Bob brings many talents to Kardea,” says Rob Leighton, Kardea’s CEO and founder. “He has an extensive understanding of both natural foods retailers and independent pharmacy. Bob also is a clinical nutritionist, enabling him to support retailers with a detailed understanding of how the Kardea products support natural cholesterol management and broader cardiovascular health.”

Separately, Kardea announced that it has expanded its distribution, adding Palco Distribution and Lomar Distribution in the Midwest., and Wythe Will Distributing and Garden Spot Distributors in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Kardea gourmet nutrition bars for natural cholesterol lowering are currently available through a range of retailers including Whole Foods, Nordstrom, Hy-Vee and many independent health food retailers across the United States. These cholesterol-lowering bars also are available at a number of health facilities including the University of Michigan's Preventive Cardiology Center and the South Denver Cardiology Associates.

"Kardea is establishing a unique position in the market," say Lukasik, "as it blends natural ingredients, delicious taste, and scientifically-validated nutritional therapy for preventing cardiovascular diseases, this Country's leading cause of death and disability."

Kardea is a mission-driven company seeking to advance the power of nutrition to support cardiovascular health and wellness. Offering natural foods, quality dietary supplements, education and gourmet recipes, Kardea takes an integrated view of how cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar levels as well as inflammation affect overall cardiovascular health. Its gourmet wellness bars, for instance, contain 1 gram of cholesterol-lowering plant sterols, 2.5 times more than the amount required to meet the FDA health claims and a full 50% of the amount recommended by the National Institutes of Health. Low in sodium, and only 150 calories, the bars also contains cholesterol-blocking fibers from oats and psyllium that also slow the uptake of sugar into the blood.
