Kapstone Medical Acquires Exclusive License to New Orthopedic Technology

Orthopedic device consulting firm Kapstone Medical, LLC announced today that they have acquired exclusive rights to a suite of intellectual property owned by Spherofix AB.
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) September 10, 2009 -- Orthopedic device consulting firm Kapstone Medical, LLC announced today that they have acquired exclusive rights to a suite of intellectual property owned by Spherofix AB.
Spherofix, owned by Spherofix AB, is a unique fixation technology suitable for a wide range of implant products. The Spherofix technology is the brainchild of Dr. Sven Olerud, world-renowned retired orthopedic surgeon and professor emeritus of orthopedics. According to John Kapitan, Founder and President of Kapstone Medical, "Our acquisition of this intellectual property, alongside the active involvement of Professor Olerud, will allow us to better serve our clients through the development of novel, patent-protected implant systems."
Kapstone Medical is currently pursuing the development of multiple projects involving spinal products that will utilize the Spherofix technology. As an independent development company, Kapstone welcomes industry partners for co-development, marketing or sales of new implant systems.
