Kansas Doctor Charged in Deadly Prescription Drug Overdoses

-- Health care fraud: If death or serious bodily injury results, a maximum penalty of 20 years and a fine up to $250,000.

-- Unlawful monetary transactions: A maximum of 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.

- Money laundering: A maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.

-- Kansas Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Division

-- Federal Bureau of Investigation

-- U.S. Postal Inspection Service

Assistant U.S. Attorney Tanya Treadway and Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan Metzger are prosecuting. As in any criminal case, a person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The indictment filed merely contains allegations of criminal conduct.
