KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI (PRWEB) June 18, 2013
The Skin and Vein Center is offering a free ultrasound vein screening to the public on July 9 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The complimentary screenings include venous ultrasounds and a visit with the doctor or a nurse, who will give the patient an assessment of his or her condition. The doctor or nurse will inform the patient of the health of his or her leg veins and the procedures that are available for varicose and spider veins.
As part of the American College of Phlebology Public Education and Screening Committee, Dr. Scott Darling, the lead Kansas City vein specialist at The Skin and Vein Center, works to inform the public of important vascular health issues and emphasize the importance of regular vein screenings.
“Researchers estimates that 23 percent of the adult population in this country suffers from varicose veins,” Dr. Darling said. “Unfortunately, however, not many of these people get their veins examined by a vein specialist. We promote vein screenings and treatment because they can improve a patient’s life tremendously.”
Appointments are required for the free vein screenings on July 9. To schedule an appointment, patients can call 816-482-3764 or visit http://www.kchealthyskin.com/contact-us/.
