About the Warriors

The Golden State Warriors were an original charter member of the National Basketball Association in 1946 (as the Philadelphia Warriors). The team moved to the Bay Area prior to the 1962-63 season and captured the NBA title in 1975, when Hall-of-Famer Rick Barry and Coach Al Attles led the team to a stunning upset of the Washington Bullets in the Championship Series. In recent years, the Warriors have solidified their stand as one of the Bay Area's prime attractions, having established all-time single-season attendance records at ORACLE Arena four of the last five seasons. The team, its ownership, players and staff are also committed to making a difference throughout the entire Bay Area community by providing programs and activities that promote self-esteem, respect, integrity, teamwork and excellence.
