Kaiser Permanente Ranks No. 4 on DiversityInc's Top 50 Companies for Diversity(R)

  • Kaiser Permanente's regional presidents represent a diverse population: 25 percent are Black, 25 percent are Asian American and 50 percent are women.
  • Kaiser Permanente also has one of the most diverse boards anywhere: 21 percent Black, 14.5 percent Latino, 14.5 percent Asian American and 36 percent women.

"I sat down last year with Kaiser Permanente Chairman and Chief Executive Officer George Halvorson and was deeply impressed by his personal commitment and involvement in diversity management. He lives his values," said Luke Visconti, DiversityInc's chief executive officer. "I've never seen a more diverse leadership team – he has built a corporate culture that is truly unique. Health care disparity is one of the greatest issues facing this nation today and Kaiser Permanente is doing a magnificent job in closing the chasm caused by poverty, socioeconomic class and lack of access to resources," Visconti added.
