Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Leads the Nation in Breast Cancer ...(ans and thousands of clinical support st...),Health

Kaiser Permanente continues to proactively reach out to members who miss their mammograms with follow-up letters, reminders and personal phone calls. A recent Kaiser Permanente's Center for Health Research study published in the August 2009 issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that a reminder program aimed at screening for breast cancer boosted mammography rates by more than 17 percent.

To further increase access to comprehensive care, Kaiser Permanente introduced its Mobile Health Vehicle on the Big Island this summer. It is estimated that the convenience of the vehicle will allow for an additional 4,400 mammography screenings per year.
