Date:12/19/2007

SEATTLE, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- K2 Sports announced today the January 2008 rollout of its new K2 Endurance line of sun care products developed and tested to satisfy the extraordinary demands of outdoor sports enthusiasts in all climates and at all altitudes. Answering the call from medical professionals concerned with the ever growing occurrence of skin cancer among outdoor athletes, K2 will feature three high performance products: the K2 Endurance Sunblock lotion in both SPF 30 and SPF 50, and the K2 Endurance Lip Balm SPF 30.

In keeping with their reputation for innovation and leading edge technology, K2 Sports has partnered with Outside Labs Inc., one of the premier formulators of sun protection products for high performance athletes in the US. Outside Labs scientist and action sport enthusiast Dr. Nicolas Martens is a Cambridge University trained biochemist recognized as one of the leading developers of sport-performance skincare products in the industry.

Athlete tested in conditions ranging from high altitude winter sleet to scorching dry desert conditions, the K2 Endurance Suncare Products formulated by Dr. Martens resolve fundamental performance issues specific to outdoor sports. Utilizing the most advanced polymer technology and a proprietary blending of four FDA approved sunscreens, the K2 Sunblock bonds to the skin creating a longer lasting UVA + UVB barrier that delivers the best sweatproofing and waterproofing currently available. The invisible, non-greasy bonding formula simultaneously allows the skin to breath while preventing the product from running and causing eye irritation. Added moisturizers combat dry skin caused by exposure to sun, wind, and low-humidity mountain air. Antioxidants provide an extra level of cellular skin fortification. As an added safeguard for the sensitive skin of the lips, K2's Endurance Lip Balm also includes Vitamin E and Aloe for deep moisturizing.

"K2 Sports is in the business of providing world class products that deliver superior experiences for wintersports and outdoor enthusiasts," said Robert Marcovitch, president of K2 Sports. "K2's new Endurance Suncare products add an element of safety and performance that will give our customers peace of mind and more personal enjoyment during their adventures on snow or in the sun."

The scented K2 Sunblocks feature a functional on-mountain package design in both a 1.5 oz and 4 oz bottle optimized for use in active conditions. The lip balm has a new cap-less, silo-like container featuring one-handed "glove-friendly" functionality. Because men use significantly less sun protection than women, and men have much higher rates of skin cancer as they age, one of the underlying design motivators for the K2 Endurance Suncare line is to encourage younger men to become proactive in protecting their skin and lips in all exposure conditions.

The K2 Endurance Suncare products will be available at specialty ski, snowboard and resort shops; outdoor and sporting goods retailers; and online at http://www.k2suncare.com. The 1.5 oz and 4 oz K2 Endurance Sunblocks will retail for $6.99 and $12.99 respectively, and the Endurance Lip Balm will retail for $6.99.
