Judges, Doctors Featured at Mealey's Asbestos Conference in March

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Judges and doctors with extensive experience on the topic of asbestos law and medicine will be among the speakers at the "Emerging Trends in Asbestos Litigation" to be held at The Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills March 9-11, 2009.

The program is being conducted by Mealey's Litigation Conferences.

Judges include the Hon. Sandra Mazer Moss of Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and the Hon. Daniel Stack of Madison County Circuit Court in Edwardsville, Ill. More judges will be confirmed this month for a panel discussion on docket management where panelists will discuss managing a volume of claims, balancing claimants and resources, and avoiding paralysis in docket management.

Michael Graham, M.D., Professor of Pathology, St. Louis University School of Medicine, St. Louis is one of the doctors already confirmed for the event. Dr. Graham will participate with another physician in providing an overview of current issues in asbestos medicine. Another panel of doctors will discuss the latest developments in the treatment of mesothelioma.

Other topics include an overview of verdicts, settlements and the future of values; the resurgence of litigation arising from Navy shipyards; liability arising from raw fibers; household exposure cases; a national overview of asbestos decisions; premises liability; consequences and procedures for submitting claims to the New Asbestos Trusts; the role of bankruptcy trusts in civil asbestos; international asbestos claims and globalization; insurance coverage for non-asbestos products; and more.
