Judge Rules That Florida Disease Management Program Serving 8,000 HIV/AIDS Patients Should Be Re-bid, Says AIDS Healthcare Foundation
Date:9/6/2007

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) will host a press conference and teleconference today, Thursday, September 6th, at its AHF/Positive Healthcare State Headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale at 3:00 p.m. E.D.T. to announce the recommendation by a Florida administrative law judge in the ongoing dispute over the state's Medicaid HIV/AIDS disease management program that the contract be re-bid. The program, which was built and successfully administered by AHF/Positive Healthcare for the past eight years, provides care for nearly 8,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in the state. In May, a proposed change in vendors sparked statewide protests by Florida medical providers and HIV/AIDS patients who believe that the proposed changes to Florida's HIV/AIDS disease management program would jeopardize the care of thousands of patients.
