Jonny Bowden Calls French Fries and Soda the “Two Worst Foods in the World”
Date:2/14/2013

Wilmington, NC (PRWEB) February 14, 2013

Jonny Bowden, aka “the Rogue Nutritionist” named French fries and soda the two worst foods in the world in his latest article published by naturalhealthsherpa.com.

“Most foods have in them some things that are good for you and some things that are not so good. One food might be high in calories and contain a few grams of sugar, and it might also be high in lycopene and protein so you sometimes have to do a little evaluation to decide whether to eat it,” says Jonny Bowden.

He said that with soda and French fries, no such evaluation is necessary. “Quite simply, there’s nothing good for you in either of them,” he stressed.

The French fries that most consumers buy, according to Jonny Bowden, are made from “potato-like products” or “low-grade frozen potatoes of unknown origin,” which are then flavored with large quantities of salt and sugar that makes them addictive. Bowden also warned that French fries are cooked using highly inflammatory omega-6 vegetable oil. “This oil is then reused time and time again (for about a week) increasing the likelihood that trans fats and carcinogenic compounds will form during the frying,” Bowden cautions.

According to Bowden, soda doesn’t contain anything that can do any good to the human body (except for water). “Diet sodas are loaded with artificial sweeteners like aspartame and filled with chemicals and colorings of unpronounceable name and unknown origin.”

While there are debates regarding the nutritional value of other foods, Bowden says that it will be difficult to find a health professional who will defend soda and French fries.

Natural Health Sherpa provides in-depth, science-based, independent reviews of natural health therapies and remedies that have been proven to be both safe and effective and are backed by good science -- multiple double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized studies. Unfortunately, there are many charlatans making bogus, unfounded claims in the natural health area, so our goal is to separate fact from fiction to pinpoint what actually works.
