Jewel-Osco Launches Flu Shot Program

Osco Pharmacy offers in-store flu shot clinics in over 150 convenient

locations

FRANKLIN PARK, Ill., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- This flu season, Osco Pharmacy is offering flu shots at more than 150 convenient, Chicagoland Jewel-Osco store locations throughout January, 2008.

"Good health starts with good nutrition and preventative measures such as flu immunization," said Registered Pharmacist Jeff Bregar, manager, Adult Immunization Program.

"At the same time, we realize that the difference between a healthy and an unhealthy lifestyle often comes down to the amount of time in the day," added Bill Baker, registered pharmacist and manager, Clinical Programs Marketing. "By providing immunizations at our in-store pharmacies, we believe we can help our patients make healthy choices by maximizing convenience."

Specially trained and certified pharmacist immunizers will be available to administer flu shots at Jewel-Osco, by appointment, during regular pharmacy hours. Through January, patients can schedule an appointment by calling (800)783-0458. The attached list provides Jewel-Osco locations, days and times when appointments for flu shots are not necessary.

Flu shots may be covered by Medicare Part B and other insurance plans. Osco pharmacists can provide additional details.

There is no cure for influenza. However, good nutrition can play an important role in minimizing risk for certain cold viruses and other chronic conditions.
