Jessica Simpson Shows Support for Breast Cancer Awareness
Date:9/15/2009

WEST CHESTER, Pa., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Jessica Simpson's love of shoes and shopping comes together for a great cause as she stars in both print and television public service announcements in support of the 16(th) annual QVC Presents "FFANY Shoes on Sale" breast cancer fundraising event. The live broadcast is scheduled to air Tuesday, October 13, 2009, from 7 PM - 10 PM (ET).

The fashionable event unites QVC, one of the largest multimedia retailers in the world, with the Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY((R))), who together have donated more than $30 million to the cause. This year, more than 100,000 pairs of shoes, from more than 100 brands, will be sold at half the manufacturer's suggested retail price, with net proceeds benefiting breast cancer research and education institutions.

"It is so important that we help support the amazing institutions working to educate consumers on this deadly disease," said Simpson. "Having personally seen the effects breast cancer can have on loved ones, I am thrilled to lend my support to such a worthy cause."

"We are so pleased that Jessica is joining us in our commitment to help raise breast cancer awareness," said Claire Watts, QVC's president of U.S. Commerce. "She has the ability to reach audiences of all ages through her many talents and we know that she will serve as a wonderful advocate for this cause."

"Our public service announcements are a huge part of our annual outreach with QVC Presents 'FFANY Shoes on Sale'," said Joe Moore, FFANY's president and CEO. "We are so happy to have Jessica on board this year as the face of our campaign. Her passion and commitment will surely inspire others in the fight against breast cancer."

Beneficiaries for the 2009 QVC Presents "FFANY Shoes on Sale" event include: The Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The Gillette Center for Women's Cancers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, The University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center's Breast Oncology Program, The Winthrop P.
