Jane Hill Gives Hope and Help to Alzheimer’s Sufferers and Caregivers
Date:8/14/2013

Torquay, England (PRWEB) August 15, 2013

Torquay, England – According to the Alzheimer’s Society, 800,000 people suffer from dementia in the United Kingdom alone. Author Jane Hill’s world turned upside down when her husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, lost his eye sight and became incontinent. Hill quickly had to learn how to be his caregiver. In her new book “Alzheimers and You: A Self Help Guide for Carers and Sufferers” (published by AuthorHouse), Hill presents a comprehensive guide for dementia patients and their caregivers to help them cope with the disease and the drastic changes it has on lives.

Hill’s book creates a dialogue between caregivers and patients as well as provides comfort and support for caregivers who have changed everything for their sick loved one. Readers are given tips for making the most of the situation as well as useful information about financial support. As an activist in her local government and a caregiver, Hill gives sound advice straight from her own experience.

An excerpt from “Alzheimers and You:”

“Social Services is a vital and important department of your local authority. It is a central cog in the wheel, responsible for assessing all the patient's needs as well as those of the carer. By law, it has to carry out detailed assessments of patients and carers. Included in those assessments are the 'sensory' needs of the blind and deaf and the problems of the very young and the elderly and physically handicapped.”
