PASADENA, Calif., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a contract from Catholic Healthcare West to assist in managing the Sequoia Hospital Program in Redwood City, Calif. The project consists of a major expansion to the hospital, including a new 104-bed tower, a retrofit of 63 rooms in the existing hospital, a medical office building, and a parking structure. The overall project is expected to be finished by 2012.
Officials estimate the value of the overall project at $240 million.
Sequoia hospital's marquee program is cardiovascular services, which includes both clinical and research components. Sequoia is among the nation's top five percent of hospitals, according to a study of mortality and complication rates by HealthGrades, the nation's leading independent healthcare ratings company.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Warren Dean stated, "We are proud to be a part of this important Catholic Healthcare West program, which will give Midpeninsula residents and physicians a state-of-the-art facility to receive and provide top-quality medical care."
