The world leader in certification and continuing education (CE) for ophthalmic personnel announces its learning opportunities in 2010.

St. Paul, MN (Vocus) December 28, 2009 -- The world leader in certification and continuing education (CE) for ophthalmic personnel announces its learning opportunities in 2010. The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO®) will feature continuing education programs nationwide for CE credit, in addition to its new monthly Webinar series.

“We are proud of the quality opportunities for continuing education in 2010,” says JCAHPO President William H. Ehlers, MD. “The new Webinar series is generating lots of excitement among eye care personnel, and participation continues to grow. This is a new channel that delivers quality education resources conveniently to participants.”

JCAHPO launched the Webinar series in September 2009 together with the Association of Technical Personnel in Ophthalmology (ATPO). Each month, a new course is presented by industry leaders featuring topic-based content, in keeping with JCAHPO’s strong educational standards for eye care personnel. To date, the program has been extremely popular, with over 900 participants in only four months.

List of Webinar dates, times, topics, and presenters through August of 2010* is available at
www.jcahpo.org/education/webinars.aspx

Continuing education programs are an opportunity for JCAHPO certified personnel or anyone interested in a career as an ophthalmic assistant to participate in anywhere from one to five days of quality educational programming. Since 1973, JCAHPO’s CE programs have supported regional educational opportunities to earn credit for JCAHPO certification or recertification and gain valuable professional training.

“CE programs allow us to reach a broader audience of eye care personnel. These events cultivate strong networking among professionals and provide valuable educational content,” notes Ehlers.
