The MAGNETOM ESSENZA was designed to provide onsite MRI services to those facilities that otherwise could not afford such advanced technology or to increase their imaging capacity. The first installation took place in February 2008. Since then, MAGNETOM ESSENZA systems have been operating in various clinical settings across the United States ranging from small hospitals to large academic institutions.

About the MAGNETOM ESSENZA

The MAGNETOM ESSENZA is the most affordable, all-new MRI system available today. It boasts a 1.5-Tesla magnet and generates high-resolution images that will help clinicians make a more precise diagnosis and deliver improved imaging services in neurology, orthopedics, body imaging, angiography, cardiology, breast imaging, oncology and pediatric imaging.

Once installed, the MAGNETOM ESSENZA is engineered to perform at an optimal operating cost, which could save facilities as much as 50 percent on their MRI energy bills, compared to older systems. The lower power requirements are due to the reduced electrical load the system requires. The system's innovative cooling system also reduces AC load and associated costs. With its light weight (approximately 3.5 tons), the system's advanced magnet design helps to ensure maximum product uptime with a state-of-the-art zero helium boil-off magnet.
