BRADENTON, Fla. (PRWEB) October 19, 2013
It Works! Global, a Bradenton-based consumer-lifestyle company, heard of a crisis in Manatee County and felt called to find a solution. In August, the Bradenton Salvation Army had to close the doors to hundreds of families in need of a meal due to an empty food pantry. It Works! Global employees gathered more than 6,500 food items to fill a truck to help restock the shelves of the Sally’s Pantry, the Salvation Army’s food pantry.
“Giving back and helping others is part of our core,” says It Works! Founder and CEO Mark B. Pentecost. “Any chance we have to support our community and those in need, our team is willing to lend a helping hand.”
Sally’s Pantry can now open for one day per month for existing clients. The donation from It Works! Global provided a great start to the Salvation Army’s annual Fall Food Drive, October 14 – November 29.
“Without the help of It Works! Global, Sally’s Pantry would remain closed to all until after the first of the year,” says the Director of Community Relations of the Manatee County Salvation Army, Christine Smith.
