Date:3/16/2009

Companies Partner to Launch Heritage Tributes Line of Caskets in the U.S.

PITTSBURGH and NEW YORK, Mar. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Heritage Casket Company, an Irish-owned memorial products company, and Matthews International, a U.S.-based leader in the memorialization and death care industries, today announced a new multi-million-dollar strategic partnership. The partnership provides for the marketing and distribution of a new line of Heritage Tributes memorial products, such as caskets and cremation urns across Matthews' North American sales territories. It also allows Matthews Casket Division to market its caskets and funeral service products in Europe through Heritage's sales and distribution network.

The news was announced following a business breakfast in New York City hosted by Enterprise Ireland, the Government Agency responsible for driving leadership and growth for innovative Irish companies in international markets. The event was one of several associated with a trade mission to the U.S. led by Ireland's Prime Minister, Brian Cowen.

Heritage Tributes products include Irish Heritage memorial caskets and urns, adorned with iconic symbols of Ireland, such as the Claddagh and Saint Patrick. Heritage products marketed in the U.S. will be co-branded as Heritage Tributes and Matthews Casket Division. The product line will focus initially on Irish and Italian designs, and will be offered to families exclusively through funeral home customers of Matthews and its authorized distributors across the U.S. and Canada.

John Finlay, founder and president of Heritage Casket said, "As a company specializing in Irish and Italian-themed funeral and memorial products and with a long tradition in Europe, we wanted to expand the availability of our products to funeral homes and families in the U.S. Matthews offered us that type of partnership, and we are excited by the opportunities this presents."
