Introducing the Smith & Nephew Foam Dressing Kit
Date:12/11/2008

fficient method to healing advanced wounds. In comparison to traditional advanced wound therapies, negative pressure methods require less frequent dressing changes and often times a less painful treatment, combined with better healing of advanced wounds. The method can be used inside and outside of hospitals, and is not only a cost effective alternative to the hospital systems, but also allows patients to return to their normal lives as soon as possible.

The new kits are intended to be used in conjunction with Smith & Nephew NPWT systems to deliver negative pressure to wounds. Smith & Nephew NPWT systems are intended for patients who would benefit from a suction device and are appropriate on the following types of wounds:

  • Pressure ulcers
  • Diabetic/neuropathic ulcers
  • Venous insufficiency ulcers
  • Traumatic wounds
  • Post-operative and dehisced surgical wounds
  • Explored fistulas and
  • Skin flaps and grafts

In addition to the new foam kit, Smith & Nephew will continue to offer a comprehensive dressing portfolio.
