International SOS to Leverage Global Network, On-the-Ground Expertise to Support MediSend’s Work in Developing Countries

Trevose, PA (PRWEB) January 12, 2010 -- International SOS, the world’s leading provider of medical assistance, international healthcare, security services and outsourced customer care, has signed a memorandum of understanding with MediSend International to support the humanitarian organization’s healthcare work in developing countries. Wherever International SOS has established infrastructure, the company will help MediSend in its mission to provide education and training in biomedical technologies, and the distribution of medical supplies and biomedical equipment.

Known for its expertise at helping leading organizations ensure the health and safety of their employees, International SOS will expand on its commitment to international well-being by working with MediSend to identify and evaluate hospitals in developing countries as recipients of MediSend’s services, and to assist in the selection and testing of potential candidates for training in MediSend’s Biomedical Repair Training Program™.

“We are proud to work with this unique organization to bring sustainable improvement to healthcare in developing countries,” said Julie McCashin, Vice President of Health Services Development for International SOS. “As we sought to expand our CSR efforts, MediSend’s impressive track record and growth made them an ideal partner, particularly because their humanitarian healthcare mission aligns well with ours of providing care with a human touch. We look forward to working with them to bring quality healthcare to the developing world.”

MediSend is a global leader in the development of biomedical equipment repair training programs, mobile test and repair kits, and support solutions for developing country hospitals. MediSend is currently working in Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Chad, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan.
