International Coal Group Is Lead Sponsor for West Virginia Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure

SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va., April 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- International Coal Group, Inc. (NYSE: ICO) is proud to announce that it is the lead Pink Ribbon sponsor for the 2009 Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure on Saturday, May 2. The 5-kilometer race/walk is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. in front of the West Virginia State Capital Complex on Kanawha Boulevard in Charleston.

The event honors the late Susan G. Komen, who died of breast cancer in 1980. The West Virginia Affiliate of Komen For The Cure has raised more than $300,000 to fund education, screening and treatment programs in the state. The national Komen For The Cure organization is the world's largest non-profit organization dedicated to fighting breast cancer, investing nearly $1 billion to fight the disease.

Komen For The Cure. "ICG's leadership role in this event demonstrates its commitment to saving lives and ending breast cancer forever."
