Lincoln, NE (PRWEB) June 04, 2013
Tabitha’s GracePointe Assisted Living & Memory Care Suites recently welcomed a few youthful volunteers for an intergenerational prom night. Some Enchanted Evening was the theme of the dance, which brought together high school-aged volunteers and more than 60 elder residents of GracePointe.
GracePointe caregivers treated residents to a prime rib dinner and gourmet desserts, followed by dancing under the stars to the big band greats of swing-era music. Area high school students, too, were on hand to enjoy the festivities and cut a rug, bring plenty of smiles to Elders throughout the evening.
“Events like this make a difference to the Elders who call GracePointe home,” said Carol Huenergardt, GracePointe administrator. “Many of our residents would never have dreamed they’d be able to attend a dance again. These students made it possible for them.”
GracePointe Assisted Living & Memory Care Suites is a 63-bed community designed for Elders who are not yet in need of skilled nursing care, yet require assistance with the activities of daily living. Two of GracePointe’s three neighborhoods are designated to care for individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. GracePointe is part of Tabitha’s full-continuum of Elder Care services.
