The inaugural Interdisciplinary Autoimmune Summit (IAS) brought together more than 150 gastroenterologists, rheumatologists, dermatologists, immunologists, internists, industry, and other allied healthcare professionals at The Mirage, Las Vegas, NV, June 20-22, 2014.
"IAS 2014 was a wonderful opportunity to meet and discuss best practices for our patients with immune-mediated inflammatory disorders (IMIDs) in a multidisciplinary setting,” shares IAS Steering Committee Member Lisa M. Grandinetti, MD, Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Director of the Dermatology Residency Program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. “The unique perspectives that each of the speakers and the audience participants brought to the table made this meeting particularly unique and valuable!"

Birnbaum, MD, Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSF and Director of the Division of Rheumatology at California Pacific Medical Center adds, "The best aspect of IAS was listening to speakers and interacting with attendees in specialties other than my own field of rheumatology. Over the course of the 2.5-day annual meeting, attendees and faculty debated, discussed, and shared groundbreaking approaches to treating patients with immune-mediated inflammatory disease.
