Date:4/9/2009

Berkshire Health Systems and Porter Medical Center, two regional medical centers in New England, have purchased automated medical credentialing software from IntelliSoft Group.

Nashua, NH (Vocus) April 9, 2009 -- ISG Group LLC, doing business as IntelliSoft Group, has announced that two hospital systems in New England have signed license agreements for the implementation of their IntelliCred medical credentialing software. IntelliSoft’s array of products, automates the credentialing processes that are vital for all healthcare organizations and their practitioners.

Medical credentialing is a process used to evaluate and validate the qualifications and practice history of a practitioner or provider. This process includes validation of their education, training, licensure and insurance, as well as any certifications issued by a specific medical board. Major accrediting organizations include NCQA, Joint Commission and URAC. These organizations set the quality standards for hospitals and healthcare organizations. Credentialing plays an important role in the provision of quality healthcare.

“Both hospitals recognized the need to make changes in the way they perform their credentialing,” stated Scott Simas, director of sales for IntelliSoft Group. “They required a sophisticated program with multiple features, benefits, training and technical support. IntelliCred and our other software products were a very good fit, and we are pleased that both medical centers chose our products and services.”

“Our needs regarding medical credentialing were numerous," stated Lisa Trumble, vice president of physician services at Berkshire Health Systems, Inc., Pittsfield, MA. “IntelliSoft Group’s flexible software meets the demands of our growing healthcare system.” Berkshire Health Systems, Inc. is the region’s leading provider of comprehensive health care services, delivering advanced health care found in most metropolitan centers. Porter Medical Center and it subsidiary corporations provide medical and long-term care services encompassing Addison and north Rutland counties, students and staff of Middlebury College, and northeastern New York state.

An industry leader since 1997, with over 450 customers in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, IntelliSoft Group is a nationwide supplier of automated credentialing and innovative provider management solutions, offering a wide variety of products.
