Intellectual Property Buildup Seminar to be Held in Detroit
Date:5/13/2008

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- CJPS Enterprises, LLC (http://www.CJPS-Enterprises.com) announced today that it will be holding a half-day mini-seminar and interactive discussions about building up, or divesting of, intellectual property for companies to increase their competitiveness, and therefore their worth. This seminar will take place in Detroit's TechTown on Friday June 6th, 2008 and is applicable to both large and small companies.

This session, which is titled "Intellectual Property Creation, Licensing, and Management," covers basic concepts of intellectual property protection, growth strategies, as well as rationale and methods to identify and negotiate licensing agreements. The speaker, CJPS Enterprises' CEO, Christophe Sevrain, has over 25 patents, and over 20 years' industry experience licensing technologies from research organizations such as universities, national laboratories and corporations, and selling and licensing patents out to large corporations. Although he is an entrepreneur, he held senior management positions at companies such as Baxter International, and Delphi Corporation.

"I truly believe that one of the engines that are necessary to develop our economy is the creation, or importation, of IP," states Sevrain. "In fact, Michigan is one of the states with the most IP per inhabitant, and these assets could also be deployed for new applications, or to create new companies."

This seminar is one of a series of seminars that CJPS Enterprises was assigned by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to offer to Michigan companies interested in learning about best business processes, as part of the Life Sciences Pipeline initiative. The project was created through the $2 billion 21st Century Jobs Fund to assist companies within or entering the healthcare sector.
