Insulet Awarded National Accreditation for Excellence by Community Health Accreditation Program
Date:9/27/2007

BEDFORD, Mass., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Insulet Corporation (Nasdaq: PODD), the maker of the OmniPod(R) Insulin Management System, today announced that it has been awarded a home medical equipment accreditation from the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) for achieving the organization's Standards of Excellence. CHAP is an independent, non-profit national accrediting body that is a leader in improving the quality of home and community-based health care organizations in the United States.

The OmniPod System is a revolutionary, discreet and easy-to-use insulin infusion system that features two easy-to-use parts with no tubing and virtually pain-free automated insertion. The System consists of the compact, lightweight OmniPod, which is worn discreetly beneath clothing and delivers insulin based on instructions from its wireless companion, the easy-to-use, handheld Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM). The PDM contains a fully integrated FreeStyle(R) blood glucose meter and is very similar in materials, construction and appearance to a personal digital assistant. The System is available in the eastern and mid-western U.S. and on the U.S. west coast

"We're honored to receive this recognition from CHAP and believe it demonstrates Insulet's commitment to providing a high-quality device with outstanding support services to our customers," said Duane DeSisto, President and Chief Executive Officer of Insulet. "Increasingly, insurance providers are requiring independent, third party validation of a product's quality standards in order to approve it for reimbursement. We expect that Insulet's CHAP accreditation will enable more people with insulin-dependent diabetes to gain access to OmniPod."
