New book offers timely, poignant financial guidance geared toward women
CENTERVILLE, Va., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Whether through divorce, widowhood or choosing to remain single, women have an estimated 90 percent chance of sole financial responsibility at some point in their lives, yet many are unprepared for this undertaking. In response, author and financial planner Shak Hill has recently published a comprehensive, easy-to-read financial guide every woman should own. A Woman's Guide to Financial Planning: The Seven Essential Ingredients For Your Best Financial Recipe offers recipes for life-long financial security built on insight derived from his personal and professional experiences.
"My mother was divorced after 22 years of marriage and left to support five children," recalls Hill. "She faced countless challenges, not the least of which were financial. This book's inspiration can be traced to those memories, but the lessons can be applied to the many financial challenges today's women face."
After watching his mother and clients confront financial uncertainty, Hill's goal is to apply the same successful techniques he uses in his practice, but on a larger scale where he can reach more women who, otherwise, might not receive this guidance. Founder of the independent practice, Lantern Wealth Management, LLC, Hill has a master's degree in finance, is a Certified Financial Planner(TM), Chartered Life Consultant and Chartered Financial Consultant. As a labor of love, half of all book profits will be donated to non-profit groups dedicated to women's needs.
"Unfortunately, women can be at a disadvantage," says Hill. "Call it culture, or juggling so many responsibilities, such as raising children, running a household, and working, women may not always have the tools to make informed financial decisions."
