Dr. Richard Howe, Vice President of Healthcare Informatics Associates, and Carolyn Swanson, Senior Healthcare Consultant, will cover the measures hospital executives and administrators must take to ensure their healthcare system is positioned to capture the maximum ARRA stimulus funding available. Dr. Howe is a former National President of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and has served as CIO of the University of Alabama Hospital and University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Hospital. Ms. Swanson's 30-year background in the healthcare industry includes deep project and program management experience in strategic planning, healthcare information systems/EMR implementations, and CPOE for healthcare organizations across North America. She also served as Clinical Director for Respiratory Care Services at a regional Children's Hospital. Ms. Swanson has multiple Epic systems certifications, is a Registered Respiratory Therapist, and holds an MBA in healthcare administration.
