Survival swim lessons add an extra layer of protection for drowning prevention

Orlando, FL (Vocus) May 21, 2010 -- Infant Swimming Resource (www.infantswim.com), the safest providers of Self-RescueTM swimming lessons for babies and toddlers from six months to six years old, emphasizes the importance of survival swimming lessons for infants and young children as an extra layer of protection for drowning prevention.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning ranks as the leading cause of accidental death for children between the ages of 1-4.

“As a private practice pediatrician, I have researched all available drowning prevention programs in an effort to make informed recommendations to not only protect my patients, but my own children as well,” said Dr. David Carr of Pediatrics Plus in Orlando. “All six of my children have completed the ISR program. I recommend ISR to every parent beginning at their child’s six-month wellness checkup. and continuing at every well child visit thereafter. While nothing can replace parental supervision for accident prevention, survival swimming is an extra layer of protection against childhood drowning.”

The ISR swimming experience is a four- to six-week program where each lesson is customized and tailored for every child as they are safely guided through the learning process. In addition, every parent receives specialized education about water safety and drowning prevention.
