Infant Development Program from EASY Baby Takes On the Sixty-Percent Increase in Developmental Delays in Children

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y., Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- One of the greatest fears of a new parent is SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), but due to extreme precautionary measures taken to try to avoid SIDS, other developmental issues in children are rising by surprising levels. After the introduction of the 'Back-to-Sleep' program in 1995, cases of SIDS were reduced significantly. However, during this same period, children diagnosed with developmental delays actually increased by over sixty-percent (Fed Stats, 2005).

"Due to the heightened awareness of the 'Back-to-Sleep' program millions of infants are not spending enough time on their stomachs. Yet, numerous recent studies show that this is extremely important to infant development. We developed the EASY Baby program to help children develop properly, by teaching parents how to safely apply the right techniques early-on," states Janessa Rick, PT, and Founder of EASY Baby.

EASY (Early Advantage to Support Your) Baby is a nationwide program dedicated to providing comprehensive early development education to parents and caretakers. The organization is focused on reducing cases of developmental delays in children by teaching interactive techniques that promote optimal infant health and development.

Through the EASY Baby program (http://www.myeasybaby.com) parents and caretakers receive a multimedia guide to help them participate in their child's early development. The program explains how to exercise and enhance each developmental building block through easy-to-follow interactive DVDs and downloadable literature; in select locations parents can also participate in live parent-training seminars.
