Date:7/1/2009

TeleTracking Releases the Bed Management Suite powered by TeleTracking XT(TM)

PITTSBURGH, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- TeleTracking continues the rollout of "Patient Flow 2.0", its next generation of patient flow applications, with the general release today of the Bed Management Suite(TM) powered by TeleTracking XT(TM).

This release joins TransportTracking(TM) which has been live on the TeleTracking XT(TM) platform since 2007 at more than 100 hospitals, to create the industry's most comprehensive patient flow automation software package, Capacity Management Suite powered by TeleTracking XT(TM).

"Today's announcement is significant for hospitals trying to improve patient flow and address overcrowding issues in several ways," said Don DeCorte, Sr. Vice President and CTO.

"The Capacity Management Suite powered by TeleTracking XT(TM)," DeCorte said, "is the only enterprise-class patient flow platform powerful enough to manage bed management and patient throughput operations for a single hospital, multiple facilities, or an entire health system. This offers ease of use and deployment throughout the hospital or system as it grows, and continuity of patient flow data across the system."

DeCorte said the experience gained from years of market leadership and over 750 clients, coupled with a significant investment in the most powerful technology available, allowed the pioneering patient flow automation firm "to deliver a suite of products which can manage and improve patient flow in previously unheard of ways. TeleTracking will continue to develop industry leading patient flow solutions on the TeleTracking XT platform in its mission to help hospitals solve their patient flow challenges."

After using TeleTracking's previous version of the Bed Management Suite(TM) for several years, Heidi McAfee, RN, MSN, Director of Patient Access/Patient Registration at WakeMed in Raleigh, NC stated, "The customization options have taken [the] product to an entirely new level."

Enhancements over previous versions range from the underlying technology to user interface redesign, even to the way staff receive information. For example;

  • Enhanced visual alerts and timers improve the monitoring and management of patient admission criteria, such as 'observation' patients.
  • User-defined clinical and physical attributes can be associated with rooms and patients to help place the right patient in the right bed the first time. They are also easy to identify on the electronic bedboard(R) for quick decision making.
  • Enhanced isolation indicators to help minimize cross contamination during transfers, patient transportation and bed turnover.
  • Easily configurable screens help staff organize the information they need specific to how they use it. No need for IT involvement.
  • Single platform, multi-campus deployment for centralized placement capabilities.

The new version of the Bed Management Suite(TM) powered by TeleTracking XT(TM) is now live at several leading hospitals and received extremely favorable reviews. Some partners include Barnes-Jewish Hospital System, St. Louis, MO; Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, MO; WakeMed, Raleigh, NC; The Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Hamilton, Hamilton, NJ; Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ; Saint Mary's Medical Center, Saginaw, MI.
