Independence Blue Cross Names John Janney to Newly Created Position: Senior Vice President Marketing Services

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Independence Blue Cross (IBC) today announced the appointment of John R. Janney to the newly created role of senior vice president of marketing services. He will report to the company's senior vice president and chief marketing executive, Linda M. Taylor.

In this new position, Janney will oversee the company's consumerism initiatives that help health care consumers better manage their care and will also head product development, marketing support functions, and customer eBusiness. He will also lead efforts to strengthen the company's presence in the individual, small group, large group, and national markets.

"We are excited about the leadership John will bring to these critical areas for our company," said Daniel J. Hilferty, executive vice president and president of health markets. "John's business acumen, marketing systems expertise, and extensive experience in operations and eBusiness will help us deliver on our promise to our customers of targeted, cost-effective products and services."
