IncentOne Announces New Incentive 'Wrap-Around' to Increase Participation in Multi-Flu Prevention Programs

LYNDHURST, N.J., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- IncentOne, the leading provider of incentive technology solutions to the healthcare industry, announced today that it is offering a new incentive "wrap-around" to increase participation in employer, health plan and other health provider sponsored flu shot programs.

The impact of the flu is widespread: children lose an average of 2-3 school days; adults lose an average of 7-8 work days; and the economic ramification of lost work days and productivity estimated at $71-$167 billion annually. (1)

According to Dr. Maurice Ramirez, a renowned pandemic expert, U.S. employers should remain vigilant and prepare for having 30% of their workers unavailable because of flu. (2) The CDC advises the single best way to protect against the flu is to get vaccinated each year.

IncentOne's incentive "wrap-around" utilizes a web-based technology solution that enables employers, health plans and other healthcare providers to issue an award to employees/members for getting a vaccine to protect against the more prevalent AH1N1, AH1N2, and AH3N2 influenza strains. Based on evidence, a $20 incentive can drive up to 80% of participation in this type of program. Participants that have gotten their vaccine will receive their award through email or U.S. mail that can be easily redeemed online or by calling the customer service center. Award choices include numerous gift cards, merchandise and more.

The incentive wrap-around strategy also offers marketing communications and plan design consulting that are essential in targeting special populations coupled with the ability to integrate with any flu shot provider and/or alternate source of vaccination for confirmation and auditing purposes.
