ANNAPOLIS, Md., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Bowen Foundation's inaugural 'Cruise to Cure Autism' will launch on Thursday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m. from the Annapolis City Marina located at 410 Severn Avenue in Eastport. The fundraising cruise will feature live music and refreshments as well as address autism in Maryland and describe the education and resources the Bowen Foundation is dedicating to local communities.
"Autism is one of the fastest growing diagnoses we see in the pediatric field and the support, education and resources available for families is not where it should be," said Dr. Charles Parmele, a member of the Bowen Foundation's board of directors. "The money and awareness we raise will go toward helping families effectively combat this disease and will support groups like Autism Speaks, the Kennedy Krieger Institute and the National Institutes of Health who are aggressively seeking to understand and cure autism."
